WHAT A HOLIDAY SEASON IT'S BEEN, SO FAR!

Marilynn Brass

Starting with Marilynn’s 75th birthday on November 13 (THANK YOU, EVERYONE, WHO SENT BIRTHDAY WISHES) to events at the Harvard Coop Book Store, A Conversation with The Brass Sisters); Wellesley Books and their series,The Joy of Cookbooks; The Gleason Library, in Carlisle, An Evening with The Brass Sisters; and Holiday Baking with The Brass Sisters at the Xhibition Kitchen at Northeastern University.

Thank you to Karen, Nancie, and Bryan, from the Harvard Coop Book Store; Jane, Gillian, and Bill, from Wellesley Books; Susannah Vazehgoo, and the members of the Board, and the Patrons, of the Gleason Library; Deb Fantasia, Bill Fantasia, Maureen Timmons, Kelsey Duggan, Meg Andrews, Chef Sam, and John Muise from Northeastern University, where Marilynn was an NU Husky.

At Northeastern, we baked the Cranberry Raisin Pie (Mock Cherry Pie) from a recipe from our friend, Kristina Bracciale's Family. The recipe for the pie, which her family always served with cream cheese, is found on page 165 of Baking With The Brass Sisters. We cut out NU Huskies on the top crust with alphabetic cookie cutters.

If our hair looks a bit on end, there was quite a rainstorm that night!

Special Thanks to Karina Coombs of the Carlisle Mosquito, the weekly newspaper of Carlisle, Massachusetts, for a well written and informative article on the Brass Sisters.
